Randy Heaton




Randy Heaton, a native of Moline, Illinois, joined that city's Police Department in 1961, and served in Patrol, Traffic Section, and Criminal Investigations.








He then expanded his law enforcement career into county, state and federal jurisdictions. He was elected Sheriff in his home county; he served as the Command Criminal Investigator as a civilian employee in the Department of the Army, and served on the State of Nevada's Gaming Control Board, leaving there in 1994, with the rank of Senior Agent. During his career, he graduated from the F.B.I. National Academy, the Secret Service Executive Protection course, and was the Distinguished Graduate of his class at the Army's Military Police Investigator's Course.








Randy started his "security career" while in the Marine Corps, and has held Director positions at eight different casino operations. His current position is at the Tachi Palace Casino & Hotel as the Security Director. While working in Las Vegas, he was elected President of the Las Vegas Security Chief's Association.








Mr. Heaton will be discussing the first murder investigation of his law enforcement career, his final murder investigation, and gaming crimes committed in casinos in California and Las Vegas.
